The GMU Challenge

Event Details

The GMU Challenge is to follow the same route as The Green Man Ultra races, but at a time to suit yourself.

All that you need to do is join our Strava account so that we can verify your run. Alternatively you can send us your run proof in an alternative format such as Garmin – just email your proof to info@ultrarunningltd.co.uk

Once your run is verified you will also be entitled to have your name and time recorded in the Book of Woodwoses, by the Gaveller. We can also email you a finisher certificate with your name, time and date of the run.

Both distances are available, the full distance the GMU Challenge 45 and the shorter distance the GMU Challenge 30. Each distance has its own unique medal, with the GMU Challenge 30 medal being a little smaller than the GMU Challenge 45 medal.

The GMU Challenge 45

The GMU Challenge 45 can be completed either clockwise or anti-clockwise, and the loop generally follows the Community Forest Path, around the city of Bristol.

Date: To Suit yourself – available any time of the year.
Location: Start and finish any where on the looped course, but 100% complete the loop.
Distance: 45 miles / 72 Kilometres
Elevation: 3100 feet / 945 metres
Cut-Off: In order to get into the Book of Woodwoses you have a 12 Hour time limit. But you can take as long as you need to achieve the medal and finisher certificate.
